Happy Birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday dear…. Rebecca, Happy birthday to me!’ Ahaha.

My birthday was on June 2, which was last week! (I know, I’m kind of late) Ahaha. I just turned 14! OMG. Ahaha. I wasn’t sure if I should post anything about such a personal thing… I didn’t really want much for my birthday because I already have what I want! I don’t need a lot of things, but I would love to have a great time in Toronto for the competition! … Except, if you ask me I would like to have a chance to meet Harry Styles.. But I don’t think that will happen. :’)

Beautiful? Isn’t he? *sigh* Too bad I’ll never meet him. :’) Meeh. Ahaha. ANYWAYS, I had a great time; I went to a movie with some friends to see ‘After Earth’

Just saying, Jaden Smith is quite the looker. Hehe. :D

Had so much fun doing a interview for Global New with Harriet Tinka and Maranda Martiniuk!! :) I was sooo nervous, this was my first time doing an interview, might I add that it was live, so if I messed up it would have been on television. :’) Ahah. But I had fun, that’s what matters!! :D

Work with the girls in the morning and discussed our goals, dreams, aspirations and how to keep on track.  I find that these workshops help me and I am sure also help with the girls with Empower Youth.    Keep on track! I will try to keep on track myself. :)

After Youth Empowered, I volunteered with the Food Bank in a barbeque fundraising on behalf of the food bank.  I love the hot dogs and how great I feel after helping out.  I am impress with so many people just given money to the food bank as donations without even taking their hot dog.  Very inspiring to see that. :D

BQ for the Food Bank!

I had lots of fun selling hotdogs with a beverage for $2 to people. All funds went to the Food Bank! I’m not sure how many hotdogs were sold, but it was awesome to work with all the volunteers that went. We’ll continue to volunteer because I think that they do a great job! :)

CASA

CASA is a major community-based provider of mental health services for infants, children, adolescents and their families within the Capital Region and from Central and Northern Alberta.

Fun Fact: CASA means house in Spanish! :D

I was asked to participate in the fundraiser for CASA, so after the BQ at the Food Bank, we went straight to the fundraiser. It was CRAZY, I had lots of fun but I had to change in the washrooms, it’s amazing how small a washroom can seem when you’re in a hurry. At the event, I did a small speech and after I was asked to sing, as in my speech I mention how I sang with All City Choir that practices at Victoria school.

I felt nervous singing in front of a crowd without preparing or practicing for it, but it was a good experience because it showed me that I can have fun and be confident at the same time. All of these different events that I am doing to help others are also helping me to have more confidence in myself. :)

The Chef at the Hope Mission works very hard, sometimes he cooks for 800 people a night. People like that are very dedicated and humble; someday I hope I am able to work that hard for a cause that is dear to my heart. All the staff at the Hope Mission work really hard; if you have some time or you would like to show your support, do contact the Hope Mission and ask them how you can help! :)
